About
ProAcne Solution Toner
Facial Toner for acne-prone skin
Eucerin ProACNE Solution Toner has been specially formulated for oily and blemish-prone skin and for those with mild to moderate adult acne. It is also suitable for all other forms of acne such as acne vulgaris. It clears the skin and prepares it for subsequent care.
The active antibacterial formula contains 2% Lactic Acid which unblocks pores, inhibits bacterial growth and prevents all types of blemishes without over drying the skin. It is particularly effective when used in the T-Zone and other problem areas.
Eucerin ProACNE Solution Toner can be used during pregnancy but should not be used by skin undergoing medical acne treatment.
How to Use
Step-by-step guide for Eucerin ProACNE Solution Toner
Cleanse skin in the morning and evening: am: to remove the sebum and dead skin cells that have accumulated overnight pm: to remove make-up and free skin from the day’s dirt Use gentle cleansing products such as Eucerin ProAcne Solution Cleansing Gel with lukewarm water and follow with an appropriate toner. You may also benefit from using a scrub once a week to unclog pores and refine skin texture. We do not recommend using an alcohol-based toner and the scrub alongside acne medication as Benzoyl Peroxide and Antibiotics can make skin more sensitive. If you like the refreshing feel of a toner try the alcohol-free Eucerin ProACNE Solution Acne & Make-up Cleansing Water instead.
The care product you use depends on the severity of your acne and on the type of treatment you are undergoing. If you have mild to moderate acne, but are not undergoing medical acne treatment, use a soothing and mattifying moisturiser such as Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Matt Fluid in the morning and evening. For clearer and smoother-looking skin over time, you may also like to incorporate our skin renewal treatment into your routine. It is suitable for all blemish-prone skin that is not undergoing medical acne treatment and should be used once a day only − ideally in the evening. You can use it before the mattifying fluid or on its own.
Sun protection is an important step in your morning routine. Blemishes can cause pigmentation issues if over-exposed to the sun, and acne medications can make blemish-prone skin even more sensitive to UV rays. If you’re applying sun protection after a topical acne treatment wait five minutes to allow the treatment to fully absorb.
Cover blemishes and even out skin tone with foundation and/or a concealer. Choose products that are non-comedogenic (i.e. that will not block pores) and, ideally, ones that contain ingredients that work to improve the condition of blemish-prone skin. Be sure to remove all make-up before you go to bed.

Lactic Acid is a skin’s own substance, being an essential component of the NMF (= natural moisturizing factor) as well as a AHA (=Alpha-hydroxy acid).
Lactic Acid acts in the stratum corneum with a two-fold effect:
Why does Eucerin DERMOPURE Toner contain alcohol?
Alcohol has proved its worth as an effective ingredient. It kills bacteria, reduces excess sebum and leave skin with a cool and pleasant astringent feeling. The concentration of alcohol used in this toner is proven not to dry out the skin.
Can I use Eucerin DERMOPURE Toner alongside antibiotics and products containing Benzoyl Peroxide?
We do not recommend the using the toner in combination with acne medication. If you like the refreshing feel of a toner, try the alcohol-free Eucerin DERMOPURE Micellar Water instead.
I’ve previously used the Eucerin DermoPurifyer Toner. What is the difference between that and Eucerin DERMOPURE Toner?
We’ve changed the fragrance, the name and the packaging. The active ingredients in the formula remain the same.
I’ve been using Eucerin DERMOPURE Toner for several days but I still have spots. What am I doing wrong?
Eucerin DERMOPURE can help blemish-prone skin to recover, but you shouldn’t expect to see results overnight. The normal cycle for skin renewal takes about 28 days, and the more impurities there are in your skin, the longer it will take before you start seeing the results. Stick to your daily cleansing and care routine for at least eight weeks and you should start to see the benefits.
My skin feels tights after cleansing. Is this normal?
Tightness is often a sign of dry skin. If your skin feels like this it’s even more important to give it the care it needs – an intensive moisturiser that also protects skin from further moisture loss.
